Dormitories for Orphanages
Orphanage directors have big hearts, so they’re always accepting more children, making living quarters tight. I Was Hungry has stepped in to provide adequate buildings for little followers of Christ.

Dormitories for Orphanages

Some orphanages that are supported by our sister ministry, Orphan’s Tear, consist of one big room. As many as twenty children use that one room for everything. When its time to go to bed, they roll out straw mats on the floor side-by-side, and sleep like sardines next to each other. When a compassionate orphanage director accepts another child into the orphanage, they all just squeeze a little closer together. Surely God’s children should have it better.

I Was Hungry has provided funds for many new all-purpose dorms for orphanages in Myanmar, Pakistan, and Tanzania. You can view a number of them in the slideshow above.

There are always over-crowded orphanages on our list waiting for funds to build adequate dorms. Your gift to our Dormitories for Orphanages Fund will be combined with other gifts to help shorten that list. Or perhaps you can provide what is needed to build a dormitory with your single gift. Either way, Jesus will say to you one day, “I was a stranger, and you invited Me in” (Matt. 25:35).
