Rice Fields for Orphanages

Orphanages in the developing world become more self-sustaining when they can grow their own rice.

Rice Fields for Orphanages

During a six -month period in 2006, the price of a sack of rice in Myanmar (Burma) tripled, making it increasingly difficult for orphanage directors to provide their most basic food commodity for their children. We are thankful that I Was Hungry has been able to provide funds for purchasing rice paddy acreage, as well as oxen for plowing and threshing, for a number of orphanages in Myanmar. The cost ranges between $5,000 and $10,000.

Your gift to our Rice Fields for Orphanages fund will be combined with other gifts that will together provide as many as eight acres of land for an orphanage to grow its own rice, plus two oxen. If God has really blessed you, perhaps you can provide a rice field for an orphanage by your single gift. Regardless of the amount, 100% of everything we receive will be sent to a needy orphanage that will help it become more self-sustaining.
